Waiting for Miracles!

ConnectMed is on their way back to Malawi!  This is going to be an amazing week full of life changing cleft palate/cleft lip surgeries (among others).  Last year there were two surgeons working 4 days and performing 39 surgeries which transformed the lives of not only the patients, but the families, villages, and medical team that cared for them.  Please check here for the beginning of last year's posts.  There are many so keep reading!  It was the most amazing week we've had here in Malawi.  God truly showed up!

This year Dr. Gosman (the amazing surgeon who started ConnectMed and who performed cleft palate surgery on our own son) and her team of 20 other healthcare providers will do five days worth of surgeries.  They will begin seeing patients and screening them on Monday morning.  Surgeries will be from Tuesday through Saturday of this next week.  Radio and print advertising has been spreading throughout Malawi for weeks now and from what I hear patients and their caregivers are ALREADY showing up at the clinic!  Malla said that they had to put the tents up early to house those who have shown up.  Praise God that this team is leaving their comfort zone, leaving their 1st world hospitals, and their normal mode of operation to come to Malawi and change the lives of so many.  Praise God for those who have given and supported ConnectMed to allow for this team to make this journey.

-For safe travels for the ConnectMed team and all of their equipment and medicines
-For the patients and caregivers who are traveling from all over Malawi to see if ConnectMed can help them or their child
-For those involved in the logistics of running this week and getting it set up at the clinic:  Malla Kawale, Becky Epperson, and Jeremy Kyser especially.
-For God to guide the surgeons hands and for all aspects of the surgeries and recoveries to go smoothly.
-That lives will be transformed in many ways and that God will receive the glory!
