24 hours in Malawi

No day can be considered a "typical" day here in Malawi.  Each day is different and even when we think we know what the day will bring it usually turns out much different than we expected.  We are Christ's servants though so we know that "in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, those who are called according to His purpose".  We just roll with it!

So I happened to take a bunch of pics last weekend and I realized that all of these events happened within a 24 hour period, from last Friday afternoon to Saturday afternoon.  I decided this would be a good real life blog post.  Here goes:

Football in our front yard!  A football and a bunch of Rainbow kids with Jeremy, CJ, and Lucas added in means an afternoon of goofing off and having fun!

This is the view from behind my house.  Just last week there was a corn/maize field here.  Now the maize has been cut down and the harvest has begun!  Early Sat morning the Rainbow kids and Kyser kids went out at 6 am to pile the maize into stacks to gather the harvest.  They have been working hard all week on the harvest.  More pics and blog posts to come!

The girls asked if they could paint.  So out come the arts and crafts.

The afternoon was spent working in our garden behind our house.  

AJ and CJ each took three beds and got them prepared and planted.  Of course many of the Rainbow kids wanted to help as well.

Of course the next few days were all quite different.  But life in Malawi is always full of surprises!
