Sickness

Sickness is no fun!  What a crazy week (almost two) it's been!  We have been passing around a stomach bug for 10 days now.  It started with Jeremy, went to CJ, then baby J got it on Sat evening.  Poor little guy...it affected him the most.  Even today, Thursday, he is still trying to battle it.  Of course, since it was the weekend we had to wait until Monday to go to our doctor.  Monday he seemed a little better that morning but by Monday afternoon me, AJ, SM, and baby J were all laid out sick as dogs!  When Mama gets sick it's really bad!  I never get sick.  But this one got me!  Finally, after baby J was still throwing up last night and then Jeremy starting to get sick again this morning we decided it was time for a clinic run.

In all honesty, we weren't being stubborn about going to the clinic.  But see, it's Presidential election week.  We are constantly watching the news, listening to radio, and checking for any outbreaks of fighting or rioting.  So risking traveling to the other side of town was not something we took lightly.  Thankfully the results haven't come in yet (yes, the election was Tuesday) and we were able to slip in, get our blood test, get our antibiotics and promethazine, and slip back home in just a couple of morning hours.  We got our blood work, checkups, and meds all for $16.  SERIOUSLY?  Yes, meds for all 6 of us.  And of course we love our amazing Dr. Young.  She's taken such great care of us over the past three years.

Please continue to pray for the presidential election.  There are many rumors, many claiming fraud, many making early assumptions that prove to be wrong, and the people are getting restless.  May God bless Malawi with a Godly Christian leader who is honest, loyal, trustworthy, and ready to change this country for the good!
