We're walking!
Over the past two weeks Princess has become more and more interested in a new mode of transportation...walking. I believe that she's finally decided to partake in this popular activity on a regular basis. Up until now she's been ABLE to walk, however she never really desired to do it on her own. I am very happy to say that she's now primarily walking. Oh, she gets so proud of herself too. If she's walking she wants everyone to see. We yell and clap and she starts grinning so big that she falls down. She is hillarious! She's also getting taller and is able to reach on top of tables and into drawers that she used to not be able to touch. This has caused me to do some very quick moving of items at times. Oh, she is into everything. She loves to explore. She loves to push buttons, like the computer keyboard buttons as I'm trying to type a blog entry. HAHA! Sleepover!
Our dear friends are about to move to Texas and while I've been in denial for the past couple of months it will be happening very soon. This week Tink will be on Fall Break from her Thursday school (homeschool enrichment program) and I decided to ask Emma to come home with us after choir on Wed. night. The girls were so excited. Actually, those words don't begin to describe their emotions. Luckily, we didn't tell them until Tues. or I think they would have burst with emotions at a longer wait. When we woke up Wed. morning Tink asked AT BREAKFAST when it was going to be getting dark. She knew that Emma would come home with us after dark. I hate that I haven't done this for the girls sooner. But we'll be doing it again for sure. They talked and giggled (in very quiet voices) until after 1030pm. And this morning they were up at 7:00am. I feel an afternoon nap coming on!! I cooked them chocolate chip pancakes this morning and now they are settling in for a movie. What a wonderful time with a special friend!
Oh, by the way...Man-Man was able to sleep with Mommy last night and have special time. I cooked him a cookie and let him watch a few minutes of Diego (after the debate was over of course). He felt special! Yes, I had a sleepover while DH was out of town. "I can do all things through Christ who strenghtens me!" :) :) :)

Everything is O.K.!
We went to our Pediatrician yesterday and he felt that the Dr. in the ER should have done a CT scan on Princess Sunday. He checked her out and we both agreed that she needed a scan since she was still vomiting. One note, the on-call nurse that I spoke with at 7 that morning stated that "persistent vomiting" was vomiting every 10 minutes and getting worse. Dr. Joe was floored at that statement. He said that "persistent vomiting" was throwing up more than once in a period of a few hours. And when you're talking about a 13 month old it's even more dangerous. That just goes to show that if you don't feel like you're being told the correct thing, keep asking and checking. Mother's know if something feels right or not.
So Dr. Joe scheduled a head CT on Princess and DH came home to go with me. We've been through CT scans before. When Tink was 24 mos. old she fell out of a chair and passed out...twice! The ambulance was called and she had to be strapped to the back board in order to go in the ambulance. I was 8 months pregnant with Man-man. This was horrible. She was screaming, "Mommy, Mommy!" and all I could do was smile and try to make her feel better. Then when we got to the hospital they had to strap her down again for the "tunnel" which is what she ended up calling the CT scan. I couldn't go in with her due to my pregnancy so DH had to handle it. I don't think I could have done it.
Now I had to face this fear again. Princess is only 13 months but she still is old enough to know that she is being strapped down and her mommy can't do anything to help her. It was horrible again. To see your baby go through something like that is just the most hopeless/helpless feeling. You know it's for their own good, but at the same time you'd do anything to stop it.
I guess I see a little clearer how our heavenly Father feels about us when we face trials. His heart breaks to see us suffer but He also knows the end result. He sees the bigger picture and "we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose". We must remember to put our faith and trust in Him alone because I don't know the way. I don't know what's best. Only He does and I'm so thankful that I'm not in control.
So we had the CT scan at about 130 and the ladies in the hospital said the Dr. should be notified by 4. So we waited until 4 and I started calling. Usually our nurse is good about calling us back. Not this day. I called 3 or 4 times and then they closed at 5. I called the poor after-hours clinic and told them the situation and let them know in very nice but serious terms that I WOULD find some answers out soon. Lucky for them, our Dr. was on-call last night. so within 5 minutes Rhonda called back and said that the scans showed nothing abnormal. Princess was perfectly fine. Praise our Lord!!!! It has been a very long couple of days but we were all able to sleep well last night and boy did we need it!
Thank you for all of your prayers and calls of support. We have an amazing church family and we're so blessed with such wonderful friends from all over! You are all amazing and we love you so much!

Princess' Big Fall
I wanted to blog quickly about Princess since many of you are wondering about her. She's about to go be checked out by our Pediatrician...here's the story.
Yesterday at church Princess took a nose dive into the ground off of a little Ducky she was sitting on. Her nose bled a little and they came and got me out of church. She looked fine and I just held her and was walking around waiting for DH to get out of service. Then she started vomiting. (Dee Dee this was right after you walked by with Aubrie) I cleaned her up and we decided to take her on to the ER to make sure everything was o.k. She threw up once again in the ER (sorry Robin!...it got her purse!) and we thought it was just because she drank a ton of apple juice on an empty stomach. They observed her for a while longer and sent us home. She's acting fine and is her normal silly self. But sometime between 3 and 630 this morning she threw up again. The nurse on call seemed to think she had a stomach bug but I wasn't buying that she HAPPENED to get a stomach bug 30 minutes after a fall on her nose. So I called our Dr. when they opened and we're going to see him at 1030. Please pray that she's o.k. I really think she is. But I want to make sure I'm not ignoring any signs and symptoms and that I have the counsel of others more knowledgable than I am. I'll update more later.
