Here She Is!

We introduced our beautiful Princess into the world on Thursday, August 30th at 10:06am. The labor and delivery went perfect and all are healthy and happy. She looks a lot like Tink did when she was born. She weighed 8lbs. 2 oz. and is 20 and1/4 in. long. Man-Man and Tink are beside themselves. They are having so much fun watching her and kissing all over her. They are so gentle with her. We came home from the hospital on Sat. and have been settling into our new routine. I'll keep you updated on our progress.

The Big Day!

I found out this morning that Princess will be born sometime between now and Aug. 30th. My Dr. scheduled an induction for the morning of Aug. 30 if she doesn't come sooner. I've been having contractions but they come and go. True labor has not yet started. Now that we expect her to come early I guess she's going to decide to wait a while. But I know the Lord already knows her birthday and she'll be born at the perfect time. We will be waiting!

Chocolate and Bon-Bons

Last week my wonderful friends threw a baby shower for our little baby. Technically I've been on bed rest for the past three weeks so it was nice to get out and have some "girl time". I especially loved the desserts that everyone brought. There was lots of chocolate and Tania made sure that bon-bons were there!! After all, that's all that us stay-at-home moms do....watch soaps and eat bon-bons!! (If our husbands only knew!)

I went to the Dr. today and I'm 1 cm. dilated and not completely thinned out. I've been contracting quite a bit but it's nothing that stays regular. Dr. Crews said that right now we're just waiting for true labor to begin. He's going to go ahead and schedule an induction for the end of Aug. So I should have only two more weeks at the most. We're just so ready for Princess to join our family. Tink and Man-Man are so excited. We finished the baby room this past weekend and finally have her car seat and stroller. Everyone is on stand-by...especially me!! You'd think I'd have this whole birthing thing down to an art by now!! I'll keep you updated and remember us in your prayers. After all, He is the one in control.

Tink's Dance Recital

This was Tink's second year in ballet class. Since January she's been working on a dance for this recital. Every other month the parents would get to go and watch the progress they made and let me tell you...they were the cutest things. Their dance was called "The Flamingo" and, of course, they were flamingos-- Hot pink flamingos! During the recital they got the biggest applause from the audience. They were just so cute.

Family Vacation

I am very new to this blog thing. I'm going to try to figure it out so bear with me. My goal is to be able to keep grandparents and friends who may live far away updated on our family life. It's easier to post information to one site than to email or snail mail things to individual people. I hope this works out.

The first thing I'd like to post is about our family vacation in May. We went to Orange Beach, AL at the very beginning of May (before school let out and it started getting crowded). The weather was so beautiful and the Gulf was calm and peaceful. It wasn't too hot yet!! It was just perfect. We stayed in a beautiful condo right on the beach. Our condo was on the bottom floor so we could just open up our sliding doors and step right out to the pool and the beach. The kids had so much fun. Man-Man was not too sure of the waves at the beach. As long as Daddy was holding him he was alright. Mostly he just played in the sand and dug a huge hole. Tink liked to go out in an inflatable boat we had. Gidgi or I would push her out and hold on to the sides. Of course, the waves got pretty big at one point and she kinda got tipped over...that was the end of the boat. One day she found a little friend to play with and they ran around the beach and played in the water all afternoon. She's great at making friends anywhere she goes.

We had a wonderful time and can't wait to go again next year. We'll have Princess with us next year so she can have her first taste of the beach...figuratively and literally!!
