More of the Rainbow Harvest

The Lord truly blessed Rainbow this year with a bountiful harvest!  The crops that are grown during the rainy season here in Malawi are stored and eaten throughout the rest of the year.  These are pictures of some of our bean and maize harvest with the children helping to prepare the food for storage!

This is the temporary bin that is holding all of our maize.  The maize will be taken off the cob and put into storage silos to be used throughout the year.  This year's crop is 1/3 larger than last years!  To God be the Glory!

Harvest Season

It's harvest season here in Malawi.  Here are some pictures of the Rainbow kids and Kyser kids bringing in the first of the harvest!  

This is the maize that has been grown during the recent rainy season.  All of this maize will be dried and taken off the cob to be stored in the silos.  The children and staff of Rainbow rely on this maize for the primary food source each day.  Nsima (ground corn flour) is eaten at every meal.  Praise God for a plentiful harvest this year!
