Tink never really mentioned that she wanted anything. Or if she'd mention something one day it would be forgotten the next. So I waited to see if anything would come up. Well we've been reading the Little House in the Big Woods recently and she's fallen in love with Laura Ingalls and that family. Each night at 7 we usually have Little House on the Prairie turned on (if we're at home). Her Nana and Pawpaw got her the first season on DVD which she has seen over and over. Well, she finally made up her mind. She wanted season 2 on DVD. So Mommy put in the order and I told them it would be a few days before it arrived. I wasn't sure how long until I received the shipping order.
She asked daily how many more days it was going to take. Man-Man was very patient. He knew it was coming and he would be happy whenever it got there. Not Tink. She wanted to know the exact day. I finally told her it should be here on Monday the 10th. All was right with the world. That is until she realized that Monday was here. She got so excited. We were coming home from the gym and she piped up..."Mommy, is it Monday?" I told her it was and she reminded me what a big day it was. I knew her order was coming by the Postal Service which worried me as they aren't as reliable as UPS or Fed Ex. But usually the mail had run by the time we got home from the gym. That day it hadn't run yet. We ate lunch and I told her to go out and check again. She didn't come back right away and I walked outside to check on her. She was sitting at the end of our driveway waiting on the mail. It was so cute. She sat there at least 20 minutes and sure enough...there came the mail truck. I was praying, please let this package be on this truck or I would have one heartbroken little girl. Yes, it was there. The world could go on spinning. My baby had her Little House collection.

You know, kids don't have to save money and wait for things they want now days. They get everything given to them before they even ask most of the times. But it's the things they work for, the things they save for, the things they wait for that mean the most to them. They have emotion poured into that object and they love it. It makes it so much more special.
Oh, by the way, Man-Man's Razor came later that afternoon by UPS. He never even asked for it when Tink's DVD's showed up. He was so excited that she had gotten her package. He is such a sweet hearted little boy. And he does love his black Razor scooter.
