Rainbow kids leave home....

Last Sunday our oldest kids left for secondary school.  They will be living at school during the school year and will only return home on school breaks.  The complex is already way too quiet with them gone!  What a joy and love they are to us!  It's so bittersweet!  We're happy for this new part of their life, but our hearts are missing them!

Please pray for all of the Rainbow kids who are away in secondary school:  Collins, Macfarren, Mike, Fallos, Estelle, Marium, Monica, Mayamiko, Aida, Julita, and Kupata

May the Lord bless and protect them!  May they rest on His Word and His promises.  May they hold to the truths that they have been taught.  May they glorify Him in all they say and do.

Amen

Happy Birthday Princess

Our little Princess has turned 7!  It's so hard to believe she's getting this big!  What a complete joy she is!  She spent the other day playing with our gardener's little girl, Estelle, who spoke not a word of English.  Estelle is 5.  SM and Estelle played all day long. She loves to play pretend, and is a princess through and through.  Yet most of the time you will find her playing in the mud and making mud pies with the Rainbow girls.  At night, during bath time, she's the dirtiest one there is!

She has a servants heart. She will make me a little snack on a plate with a banana and a few crackers with peanut butter or cheese and surprise me with it.  She loves to give gifts.  Recently she has a box that she likes to wrap up little items of personal value into and give them to me.  She'll hide the box all wrapped with a bow and watch for me to find it and open it.  And she loves to clean up when I don't ask her to. What a precious gift she is!  Happy Birthday SM!  We love you so much!

SM requested strawberry cupcakes for her birthday.  We found a great homemade recipe online and went to work!

Phiri and Raficki hanging out while the cupcakes bake.

A friend brought her a huge bag of candy from the States!  Yay!

Birthday morning!  Mommy and CJ got up extra early to make homemade banana muffins and decorate the room for the birthday girl!

We invited the Hirotos over for breakfast!  Here is J-man and precious Yami!

Oh my goodness aren't those cheeks just the CUTEST!!!

These three angels sat outside for over an hour while we were cooking singing "Happy Birthday" to SM over and over!  They picked flowers to bring to her as well.

Decorating her cupcakes with the Frozen items her Nana sent!

Flowers from her Evelene!

Sauda and Chifundo and SM!

The birthday gang!  We invited the girls in for cupcakes!

And of course there was washing!  The girls love to wash dishes!  Yay for Mommy!

Later that night (after the Rainbow kids left) there were PRESENTS!

Nana and Pawpaw sent her the beautiful Merida costume!  It had a REAL crown and REAL high heeled princess shoes!

And in true SM fashion, it also had a bow and arrow!  This is the perfect princess for this girl!

I've never seen a child so in love with her baby!  This is HER baby!  And he has been hers since he was born!  The bond between these two is amazing!  I can't wait to watch how it continues to grow!

She's in love!

No, don't hit your brother!

Happy Birthday Princess!
