Each year the churches that have been planted in the surrounding area gather together to have a joint baptism and Lord's supper service. Those getting baptized accepted Christ as their personal savior at some point over the past year and have been discipled and observed for fruits of the Spirit to ensure that they understand what becoming a follower of Christ is about. It is important for them to understand that the act of baptizing in itself does not save someone. It is the heart change inside the moment they accepted Christ as their personal savior.
These new believers need to be prayed for mightily. This area is full of witchcraft and traditional non-Christian religious practices which are methods which Satan is very powerful in using here. At least two of the beautiful children pictured below have been caught up in witchcraft practices over the past few months. They have now come to a saving knowledge of Christ! Praise God! But this is the most critical time! Satan will be out for revenge! Please pray for Satan to be stomped out of their lives. Pray for the churches of Rainbow, Mkanghamira, Salumbwa, and the new church plant in Chingala as they continue to disciple and share the Gospel. Pray for the pastors as they work to grow the churches and meet the needs of their people. Pray that we will be doers of the Word and not seers only. Pray that Christ alone will receive all glory, honor, and praise!
